A typical security suite integrates antivirus, firewall, antispam, and parental control, and sometimes more. F-Secure Internet Security 2015 ($39.99 per year; $59.99 for three licenses)
The product's appearance hasn't changed much since the previous edition, except that it now has a flatter Windows 8 style. F-Secure's designers have clearly worked hard to present the information and choices that the user actually needs, and no more.
F-Secure doesn't participate in testing with all the labs that I follow, but those that do include it rate it from good to excellent. In particular, it earned Advanced+ (the top rating) in both file detection tests by AV-Comparatives.
In my own hands-on malware blocking test, F-Secure did quite well. It wiped out almost all my samples as soon as I opened the folder, and its real-time protection whacked a few more when I tried to launch them. With 9.3 points out of a possible 10, it beat out most products tested using this same sample set.
